About Common House Spider

The common house spider derives its name from the fact that it is the most commonly observed spider indoors. It is a bothersome pest, most likely due to its webs rather than the spider itself. Adult female house spiders have a nearly spherical abdomen and are around 5-8 mm long. Their male counterparts have enlarged abdomens that range in length from 3.8 to 4.7 mm. The hue varies greatly between males and females. House spiders have eight eyes, two lateral pairs of which are virtually touching. The fourth pair of legs’ final tarsal segment contains a row of serrated bristles.

Habits

Spiders reproduce throughout their life cycle, and a single spider egg sac can contain between 100 and 3,000 eggs. If the egg sac hatches within the house, you can end up with a spider colony. Spiders can help in the yard or garden by reducing the population of insects, particularly those that might carry diseases, such as mosquitoes, flies, fleas, and roaches. Spiders have even been observed to kill and consume other spiders. Many house spider webs can be built in a matter of days due to trial and error location selection. The accumulation of dust on these webs emphasizes their existence.

Habitats

The house spider may be found all over the world, although it is most prevalent in the United States and Canada. House spiders are most commonly found within structures in higher corners, beneath furniture, in closets, angles of window frames, basements, garages, and crawl spaces. They are frequent in warehouse corners near doors that remain open.

Threats

Common house spiders are annoyances, but they pose little danger to people. Spiders are beneficial in and around the home because they prey on other household pests. House spiders are not known to bite, but they may do so under dangerous conditions, such as being squashed. Nonetheless, you may wish to keep arachnids and their webs out of your home. This tutorial will go over how to get rid of spiders and keep them out of your house, as well as how to recognize the most harmful spiders in North America.

Prevention

The simplest approach to get rid of spiders is to keep them out of the house. You must first figure out how this creepy crawlies enter the house. The most typical way for spiders to enter your home is through small cracks and gaps in doors and windows. You can prevent spiders by simply applying caulk to the edges of your windows and any crevices in your doors. Wire mesh can be used to cover any holes, such as vents or a chimney. In most circumstances, this should keep them away from the home.

I had a great experience with Gta pest control. They came 3 years ago for a mice problem I had, and it was taken care of in no time. They were all over my house! The technician, Aftab, was great and took the time to look everywhere! This year, the technician was Ahmed. He was great too! Very kind, professional, and you can obviously see that he knows what he is talking about! Also, I had some critters in my shed over the winter, and he checked and told me they were actually squirrels! And he knew exactly where to look for their point of entry, giving me advice on how to deal with that in an economical way! This year, I didn't wait until the mice got in the house thankfully! So we treated the garage mainly, although he put a couple traps in strategic locations around the house.Great service! Thank you GTA pest control. I will definitely recommend your services!

Ahmad, the service professional from GTA Pest Control came on a long weekend to take care of our ant problem today. We use him and GTA Toronto Pest Control every spring and we are extremely satisfied. They do not have to come back until the following spring as we have never had a reinfestation after they spray. Ahmad is friendly, professional, and very knowledgable. I would highly recommend him and this company to anyone in need of pest control services!
